Melissa Ann McCarthy better known as Melissa McCarthy born 26 August 1970, is an American film and television actress, comedian, writer and producer. She is known for her role as "Sookie St. James" on the "The WB" television series "Gilmore Girls" where she starred from 2000 to 2007.

She was up for the Oscar Awards 2012 for "Best Actress In a Supporting Role" for her role in "Bridesmaids".

As we know the 84th Annual Academy Awards held at the Hollywood and Highland Center, California, USA, 26 February 2012. Unfortunately she didnt won the Oscar for her Nomination.
